ScaleUp Stands Out at 2025 Angel Capital Association Summit

ScaleUp, a spinout program of the Department of Homeland Security (DHS) Science and Technology Directorate’s (S&T) Homeland Security Startup Studio (HSSS) program, is starting off strong. Four ScaleUp companies made a powerful showing at the 2025 Angel Capital Association (ACA) Summit, ACA’s flagship event.

Sponsored by the DHS S&T Office of Industry Partnerships’ (OIP) Technology Transfer and Commercialization (T2C) Branch and in partnership with venture-building company FedTech, ScaleUp matches early-stage ventures with DHS mission relevant technology and trains them to scale their venture to meet DHS needs. This is a sister program to HSSS, which delivers homeland security solutions by pairing entrepreneurs with cutting-edge technologies to build startups and help move advancements from lab to market. Building on the foundations laid by HSSS, T2C launched ScaleUp in January 2025, with both programs overseen by OIP Program Manager Corin Hindenach. Detectix, Booth 23 Technology, Infiltron Software Suite, and PINP01NT (the four aforementioned companies) represented ScaleUp at the ACA Summit in Denver, pitching during the Innovation Funders Showcase.

The premier event gathered angel investors, startup leaders, and early-stage investors for several days of networking and strategic collaboration. Their pitches produced promising connections with investors, insights into investor interest in security technologies, evolving priorities, and strategies for venture readiness and matchmaking. Participation in the event led to introductions between investors and cohort companies, helping to bridge the gap between mission-driven innovation and the capital needed to scale up. Each ScaleUp company left with follow-up meetings regarding potential investment, with two of the four receiving letters of intent for funding. ScaleUp’s inaugural cohort is energized by the ACA success, fueling momentum to scale national security innovations faster than ever before.
