Overview
A Deeper Dive
The Defense Information Systems Agency (DISA) faced the challenge of enhancing command and control capabilities while supporting joint warfighters and national leaders. To achieve this, DISA needed a more agile and innovative approach that would allow for rapid decision-making and improved service adoption rates. Traditional methods were insufficient for the fast-paced and dynamic environment in which DISA operates, necessitating a shift towards lean startup principles.
FedTech partnered with DISA to implement lean startup principles, enabling higher adoption rates of DISA services and capabilities. This approach empowered employees to make quick business decisions based on validated data and evidence, fostering a customer-focused culture. FedTech provided in-person and virtual short trainings, multi-day in-person sessions, and continuous support for internal innovation operations. This comprehensive training equipped DISA employees with the skills to become change agents, addressing problems at both local and global levels.
The impact of this partnership was significant. DISA saw an increase in service adoption rates and more agile decision-making processes. Employees were empowered to bring forward innovative ideas, enhancing their ability to deliver impactful solutions. The culture within DISA shifted towards one of intrapreneurship and continuous improvement, ultimately supporting the agency's mission to provide robust command and control capabilities for joint warfighters and national leaders.
