A Deeper Dive
The Department of Defense (DoD) faced challenges in efficiently transitioning technology from its laboratories to soldiers in the field. To address this, DoD lab personnel needed specialized training in outreach, marketing, and creative strategies to foster partnerships and streamline tech transfer processes. Traditional methods were insufficient for the dynamic and rapidly evolving defense landscape.
FedTech developed DoD Elevate, a year-long training series sponsored by the Defense Laboratories Office (DLE). Elevate equips DoD lab personnel, including tech transfer professionals, with venture-proven techniques in product development, management, and innovation. This comprehensive program focuses on enhancing skills in outreach, marketing, and creativity, enabling participants to effectively transition technology to the warfighter.
The impact of the Elevate program is profound. DoD employees build valuable relationships with industry leaders from tech companies and the investor community, fostering a collaborative network.
